1. Use uTorrent instead of BT
2. Go into Options, and set Protocol Encryption to "forced"
3. Don't download actual .torrent files, use Magnet links
4. ???
5. Profit

I do use that one for my free legal programs. I'll try the things you suggested just in case. I only use it for TV shows that I can't get. I don't get how "digital Millennium" Knew what someone could of been doing on my network.

Also it isn't "legally" necessary "by law" to have your network locked. Just like I don't have to have my front door locked. It doesn't mean its isn't "legal" If a robber breaks in and you are known to leave your doors unlocked it doesn't matter. The insurance company will still most likely cover you because it is usually human era to not lock a front door. Same can be applied with networks. If I had a hard time using a device getting on my own network. I have the right to unlock it, and if someone jumps on it. You shouldn't be liable.

If you don't secure your own network and you continue to use a service that is actively out to get you blame no one but yourself.

What do you guys mean by "unsecured network"

Are you saying that if you put a password on your wifi you won't get caught torrenting?

Haha, no. All that does is stop your neighbors from using your wifi. If you have no idea what you are doing stop using torrents. Especially after getting a cease and desist in the mail. Kids...
