Tv as monitor

#1JorumPosted 7/28/2013 7:55:13 AM
I have a Seiki tv (40 inch) that I would love to be able to use as a main monitor but sadly it doesn't have a game mode so I get a good amount of input lag. I have disabled the 120hh, noise reduction, and the usual problems but it is still to slow to use for any kind of fast paced game. Is there any way to help the situation via the computer side or anything I might be overlooking?

Thanks for any advice.

Game mode is bogus anyway. I actually get input lag from using it.

I don't have game mode and it works perfectly fine on my 6 year old TV.

O_o

That's not right.

My TV lets me dedicate inputs to certain types of devices, like PC, in the settings menu. Got rid of all that nasty television input lag.

I got no noticable input lag on my TV which my computer is hooked up to. But the text is way to small to play any sort of RPG games and i'm using a 42 inch also.

So I am buying another monitor to play games on, but the TV is great for streaming movies, and shows from netflix or hulu, or gogoanime etc.

Same, game mode gives me up to 250ms.

With it off I get around 70ms.

With everything turned off I get around 30ms.

I don't play FPS games, so 30 is acceptable to me.
