Question about motherboards

#1Kira0987Posted 7/31/2013 3:17:51 PM
So thanks to Shub I've almost got my build ready to go: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/makohazard/saved/24kP

Now my question is, is this motherboard:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128602&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= as good as this motherboard? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128553

The DS3 was my original choice, but seems to be discontinued so I was wondering if there is any downside to going with the DS3P instead. I'd like to order everything form newegg to get my stuff at the same time but if the DS3P is no good I know Fry's online store sells the DS3.

And while we're comparing those 2 motherboards, how much worse is this one than the other 2?:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130679&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= I ask because I could actually get more discounts with this one since it goes with some of my other parts.

Thanks

Anyone happen to know anything about those boards? I'm wondering if there's even any difference since they are all around the same price.

Looks like the DS3P is just the successor to the original DS3. Note that the DS3P has two extra internal USB 3.0 connectors, of which the DS3 has none.

The Asus board's specs are identical to the DS3P as far as I can see, so just go for whichever is cheaper. I like Gigabyte boards, but MSI is a quality brand too.

Did you mean the MSI's board's specs are identical? Unfortunately since I posted this the DS3P board went out of stock too. So I guess my question is will it be safe enough to buy that MSI board (it's cheaper and has combo deals going with my other hardware)
