Hi guys, just moved back in with the fam. I'm sure they will be dying to use my beastly rig, along with family friends and the GF - it's the only machine that runs 1080P vids and games at full speed in the house, plus being a desktop means it's a lot more reliable and doesn't blow air on furniture and body parts at 100 degrees Farenheit.
However I need to make sure they don't find any "sensitive" materials if you know what I mean. Where do you guys hide your stuff? Let's share strategies.

Hide it in the folder called C:\, nobody ever looks in there. --- Every time you point out that something is an opinion Jesus shoots a kitten in the face.

Printer drivers. --- By Grabthar's Hammer, what a savings.

Right click folder, go to security tab. Make sure only your user has permission.
If that's not good enough, use encryption program that creates a drive, this drive can have your special files. --- He who stumbles around in darkness with a stick is blind. But he who... sticks out in darkness... is... fluorescent! - Brother Silence

Put private files in folders under your user account. Password protect your user account.
Make new user account for the family. --- Man your own jackhammer Man your battlestations
Just "jokingly" tell them to stay out of your porn collection, then nobody will even bother to look. Then just hide whatever you want in plain sight.
And if you ever do get caught, you could always tell them that you told them so, lol.

Somewhere deep in the system files should suffice, assuming they're not too computer savvy if they decide to poke around.
You could also do this, just to mess with them: http://xkcd.com/981/ --- ~Bow chicka bow wow~ I survived ApocalyPS3 & ApocalyPS3 2: Among Thieves

USB flash drive. Keep it with you/hidden, and have a password on the drive. That way there's no chance they'll "accidentally" find stuff hidden on the computer somewhere. Unless you forget and leave it plugged in. :P --- "How do I get rid of a Trojan Horse?" -Sailor_Kakashi "Leave it outside the gates of Troy overnight." -Davel23

Who cares where you put your porn? It's going to show up in the recent documents and the previously played on your media player.
Not to mention finding porn on a computer is the simplest thing in the world if you want to. Just search for videos with no search string, bam all your porn shows up.

#1 - Password protect your account.
#2 - Create non-administrative accounts on your PC for your family members.
#3 - Turn off file sharing.
#4 - Throw it all in a folder named something like: 69geb684b0278ec30x2b, make it a hidden folder, go to Control Panel-> Folder Options-> View-> 'Do not show hidden files and folders.
If someone finds it... they knew you had it, and were looking for it.
