I was looking at the Turtle Beach XP300 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006W41W82/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
Since it's at $99 it seemed like a good idea, and it works with a PS3, but apparently it's a console headset and although it has PC support, it appears to be a pain to get working. Not that I can confirm, just random stuff I've read.
I'm just looking for good recommendations. Either for the XP300, or another suggestion.

I use the official Sony USB one for the PS3 and my On my PC. Works wonders, good build quality, great sound quality (even more so with the Razer surround software) and is only 99$. Plus it will be compatible on PS4. Strongly recommended...
Thanks, that seems like a good option. Is it comfortable to wear for many hours? And how is the battery life?

Battery life is pretty good I get about 5-6 hours per charge and honestly it recharges very quickly. It IS comfortable for long gaming sessions and is well padded however after plowing through TLoU I was happy to take it off !!
I know there's now the Pulse Edition which is 150$ and apparently a little more comfortable but I'd be lying if I said it's true since I haven't tried it and it wasn't available when I bought mine. --- FX8350 @ 4.5Ghz / ATI Sapphire 7870XT OCed / Patriot 64GB SSD / 2X1TB Hitachi 7200 / Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 / 12GB DDR3 ADATA / 750W C-Master GX / Corsair 300R
Has lasted me for over a year, I have thrown it to the floor 2 times because of ragequits, and it still works. The Mic sometimes captures background noise, but overall for the price its actually good quality.
It works for all systems 360, Ps3, WiiU, PC, android phones, etc...heck it even works with your T.V. --- i7-4770k | EVGA GeForce GTX770 2GB | Asus Sabertooth Z87 | Corsair Vengeance 8GB RAM Samsung 840 120GB SSD | CM Storm Enforcer | Corsair TX 750 Watt

I'm looking at the Pulse edition too. Looks pretty ****ing awesome.
I know hahaha. Most definitely the next one I buy! Plus maybe it's just me but I trust the quality of Sony's product over third parties like Turtle Beach and others. --- FX8350 @ 4.5Ghz / ATI Sapphire 7870XT OCed / Patriot 64GB SSD / 2X1TB Hitachi 7200 / Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 / 12GB DDR3 ADATA / 750W C-Master GX / Corsair 300R
