How much money have you spent on hardware alone for your PC?

About $1700 on my current PC in sig, including the monitor, mouse, keyboard and speakers.

I have had two builds during that time, some of my first build carried over to my second build though. I would say $2,000 which I think is pretty accurate.

Anyone that spends less than 3,000 every 6 months might as well go buy a Wii.

$2500-3000 in the last 10 years. Brazilian prices.

2 full pcs (including OS, monitor and peripherics)
- sempron 2.0ghz, 8400GS 512mb, 4gb ram god knows, Win XP Pro, 17" tube monitor.
- core2quad Q8400 2.66ghz, GTS 250 1gb, 4gb ram ddr2 667 dual channel, Win 7 64 bits ultimate, 20" lcd monitor.

Upgraded the second one: mobo (gigabyte socket 775 to Asus socket 1155 ), cpu (i5 3470 3.2ghz) and ram (8gb ddr3 1333 single channel, i intend to get another 8gb soon).
I also intend to get a GTX 760 as soon as it is available in my region.

Since the beginning of this year... about 3 grand in total. Specs are in my sig and that's not including my keyboard and mouse which were about 300 bucks and my 7.2 Surround sound setup and 5.1 headphones for multiplayer gaming...Also bought a 360 controller and a Razer Nostromo a week or so ago which I really like.

2008: 15" MBP ~$2100, Monitor $200, Ext. HDD $100, {Keyboard, Trackball, USB hub, Misc., Printer} ~$300

2010? (Maybe 2011): Another Monitor to replace previous one which was failing $300, External DVD Drive $20

2012: New desktop build $800, two SSDs $160
