How to defeat a vicious keylogger and hacker

Client contacted me a few days ago. Says that he's visited various sites and found a keylogger buried as a dll file on his system. Removed it for him yesterday; formatted the entire HDD and zeroed out before installing Windows 7 again.

Do you have a suggestion to keep the keylogger off his system?

NoScript and an anti-malware program with real-time protection. CCleaner might not help with that problem but they could get some use out of it.

Also, if your job is to fix people's computers, doing all this for him instead of giving him suggestions would make you more money and it would keep him from screwing something up while setting up and installing everything.

If you don't know, you should just be honest with your "client" and let them know they should hire someone else with more experience.
