I uninstalled NMM and the mods, but whenever I boot up the game again I still see the same mods active. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the game but they're still there. How do I get rid of them completely?

Uninstall the game, navigate to the folder and delete everything inside of it. Travel on over to My Documents, find the Skyrim folder in My Games and delete everything there as well.

I deleted all the mods one at a time in NMM, then I went to steam and right click Skyrim -> Delete Local Content, then I go to the skyrim directory inside steamapps and delete everything there. Then I redownload Skyrim.

I did this when a mod I installed started crashing my game and I couldn't figure out which one it was. Redownloaded only mods that I absolutely couldn't live without and game works fine now.

You can get rid of the majority of the mods by unchecking them in the launcher. The ones that overwrite the core files would have been fixed by your reinstall.

no when you download it you download the updated version, you won't have to wait another 6 hours for updates.

If you aren't using the mod manager then you would have to re-install assuming you don't have a backup.

Can't I just delete the .esp files form the NMM plugins list?

If you delete everything and reinstall and start your day long wait now, it'll be quicker than waiting for a reply telling your how to uninstall all of your mods.
