Currently backing up my HDD (Gunna do a clean install of windows)
I got a Samsung 840.

Do i need to buy any other cables? And which PSU cable do i use?

assuming your old drive was a SATA drive, you have everything you need

You can use both the same cables that go in your harddrive with your SSD. Those two cables are the exact ones your SSD needs.

The SATA cable and the Power cord.
But yeah. If you wanna use both your Harddrive and SSD at the same time, you'll need two SATA cables.

You could use some SATA3 cables over the SATA2 (I don't know how old your previous drive is), but that won't affect the SSD's access times (which is where your huge performance increase derives).

It's not worth worrying about, really.
The best course of action is to just get the information you need, then get out while you're still alive. - destroy everything on GameFAQs

Yeah im going to be using both the HDD and the SSD.

So ill just need to go buy a SATA cable, but the PSU should have an extra power cable?

Is there any real advantage of using SATA3 cable over SATA2?
