Do you still try to go for 100% completion rates?

Unless 100% completing it offers a reward that affects gameplay, then I wouldn't bother. Most of the time, I find some things that are just not worth going for 100%.

Though I do enjoy starting over for games that have a level-up system, upgrades, and stuff.. going for 100% with that is good enough for me.

I've never once in my entire life done a 100% in any game. I may replay them several times but it's because I want to play through it again and not to collect or do arbitrary things.

Occasionally. When I was a kid I did so all the time, not only on games that I found extremely difficult but loved, but also on games that I found tedious. Now that I have less time, I only play the game for as long as it holds my interest; it's rare that I'll "force" myself to 100% a game I no longer enjoy.

In fact, I'm working on getting 100% in Rayman Origins right now. Playing through the core game has been pretty straight-forward (2 worlds remaining), but getting the gold medal and time trial trophies can be really difficult sometimes. It's a fun level of difficulty though so I see myself finishing everything.

The last game I cared to do that in was Mark of the Ninja.

Before that was Super Mario Galaxy.

I used to try and complete all my games to 100%.

The quality of games have declined quite a bit since then.

Its incredibly rare. If a game even has the concept of 100%, most of the time it includes tedious crap. And I won't bother.

There needs to be a point to it, and it needs to be more than collect a thousand of the same thing put in boring places that offer nothing of value.

Basically, I'm the kind of guy that does every side quest -> but won't collect all the meaningless crap just for the sake of having it all.

I used to like to do all the side quests in RPGs and get 100% collection in games like the Metroid series. That USED to be "100% completion."

Modern games have tons of stupid trophies/achievements that don't really amount to anything other than grinding or replaying the game on harder difficulties. I never care about 100% completion anymore thanks to those.

If I like the game a lot, sure. Some games its just not really doable though. Like in fallout new vegas, I am collecting 1 of everything I can but there are a few either or choices. You can't get an alien blaster for instance unless you take a certain trait. If you do take that trait, you can't get a special gauss rifle.

I generally like to see everything a game has to offer so I suppose I put a little effort into 100% completion. Unfortunately, some games just aren't worth the extra devotion.

Yeah, I'm all for 100%ing platformers and stuff that usually just require collecting every item, but I'm not about to dedicate thousands of hours to ridiculous achievements for like killing 100 million opponents in public games, flying a helicopter for 500 hours, get 99,999,999 gold, ect.

I beat the story, usually go back and grab a few achievements, and move on.
