What's wrong with Windows 8?

Change is scary. I'm not saying it's not possible to dislike the new start menu but people have blown it so far out of proportion that it's ridiculous.

This.
People act like there isn't a desktop, when there certainly is one. And they hate the start menu for the sole purpose of hating it. Ignoring that it's actually easier to find things now. There's nothing wrong with Windows 8. I have it, and will never go back to Windows 7.

there are some good things like the i think the task manager is better. however, there are generally too many unnecessary changes to what has already worked. windows 7 wasn't broke but microsoft tried to fix it anyway with 8.

also, it's not good for a business environment, it's not a stable OS. no business will implement windows 8, too much of a risk.

^ This.

The business world should be the last group they should alienate... even more so than gamers.

The business world wouldn't upgrade anyway, even if it was Windows 7.2. There are some still on XP. They are not the target here. They never were.

And yes, it's a very stable OS. I had only one issue before and it's fixed now.

Tried Win8 a while back and it took 3 minutes to figure out how to get rid of the metro junk and find the Desktop. Never buying Windows 8.

Windows 8 is fine.

There's a very little difference between Win 8 and those before it.

You simply have 1 more screen to handle before you can get to the Desktop, and there's no start button. I mean, I cannot honestly think of any changes that can constitute the mass hate that it has gotten. Although it's obviously made for tablet-like devices, you can use a mouse with Windows 8 perfectly. It's never worked so smooth.
