Supermicro enters the consumer Z87 motherboard market

The board looks like a POS, but it performs surprisingly well actually (4.6-4.8GHz on a 4770K). I wonder if the components used are of exceptional quality considering the lack of cooling offered on the board.

Looks a little janky, but I have no problem respecting results.

impressive for such a little guy. Could be fantastic for users who need a small form factor. Take THAT, college students who think a laptop for gaming is essential for space concerns!

According to Amazon its $300. Other than having 2 extra SATA slots, it doesn't do anything better than my beautiful Sabertooth.

nvm, my motherboard supports 1866mhz max :(.

reminds me of the asus budget boards from like 10 years ago with the blue-ness.

So used to seeing boards now with crazy heatsinks and heatpipes so its weird to see one so empty.

Also quite interesting they stuck with the old BIOS instead of UEFI, I still like the old BIOS better tho I'm more familiar with it.

Come back when you have the guts to OC your processor. Any cheapo 1150 motherboard can run a 4770K at stock.

I will OC when stock settings aren't enough. Don't pressure me.

All I'm saying that you don't have anything to back up "it doesn't do anything better than my beautiful Sabertooth", when you haven't really done anything that would put your board to the test.
