I'm hunting for Roguelikes

#1notSFFPosted 8/4/2013 10:11:45 AM
I've been in a Roguelike mood for a while, and am looking for some more to add to my collection.

The Roguelikes I already have are:

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky
Nethack Vulture (all three versions)
Angband
Dungeons of Dredmor
Binding of Isaac
Sword of the Stars: The Pit
DoomRL
Dungeon Crawl
Tales of Maj'Eyal
Rogue Legacy
FTL

Are there any other Roguelikes anyone would recommend? I have my eye on Wazhack, but I don't know much about it.

You don't hunt Roguelikes, they hunt YOU. (and then you have to start from the beginning)

Abandoning our oath to the sword, another victim lost to the leaf.
I think I'll stay for a while. Lotus leaves, taste so, so sweet.

There was that funny one on Steam which the name eludes me and it had a couple of expansions. I forgot the name. The only turn off for me is that it was a parody but it was a bit fun.

edit: I realized its already in the TC's list. It was Dungeons of Dreadmor

It's not Roguelike but it's close and the game I'm referring to is the original Diablo game. It may look old but you'd be surprised at just how compelling it is to play still.

I'm not sure if this still works but I found a resolution mod for it.

La-Mulana
Spelunky - you can grab classic for free now or wait four days for the XBLA HD version to release on PC (for a cost I'm not aware of)

Might not be perfect examples of rogue-likes, but whatever.

I guess Dark Souls would be considered a rogue like?

Zafehouse Dairies has rogue-like elements like F.T.L, and I think it's a better game too. The devs are always updating it and it keeps getting better and better.
