What needs to be upgraded on this old gaming rig?

If League of Legends is all you're looking to play then a graphics card upgrade should be enough.

A 6670 doesn't require any extra power from the power supply, it gets all it needs from the PCI-E slot.
A decent 300w supply should be enough.
250w might be enough but it may be pushing it.

6670 $65 normal - $50 after rebate.

I agree, just spend the 70 bucks on a low power ati discreet card. I used an HD4650 with a pentium 4 at one point years ago and the cpu still held that card back. Infact I would just save up for a new mobo, ram and cpu. PSU and gpu of course too.

The 7750 is the best card you could put in there that doesn't need an additional power source. You just plug it in to your PCI-E x16 port and it works. That and a modest SSD (only if you upgrade to Windows 7, which supports TRIM) would be the best $200 or so you could put in it for upgrades. Or, start saving for a newer system.

A quick rundown of the 6670 vs 7750 so you can see if the difference is worth the price.

Damn! Nice find my friend! Hell I might even pick this up for my wife's computer.

I ended up picking up that 6670 and finally got it installed. It's really small but packs a pretty good punch for what it is. It's a hell of a lot better than her old GeForce 6800 XT. That extra PCI slot that it requires for that useless vent slot gave me hell since I didn't have the extra slot for it. I have to install it with the cooling fan side upwards due to how the motherboard is oriented. I had to trim part of the case off and then bend the hell out of one of the little PCI feet (that slip in between the motherboard and side of the case) because a damn rivet was in the way that I couldn't cut through with a hacksaw blade.

I also went through hell because I uninstalled the old Nvidia drivers and used Drive Sweeper to get rid of the left over registry files which in turn caused Windows to fail booting up because it apparently wiped out some critical Nvidia file that Windows needs to boot with for no good reason. So Windows had to roll back to a previous restore point. This trainwreck issue combined with installing AMD drivers with scraps of Nvidia files left on my computer preventing the Catalyst Control Center from running was a nice touch as well.

The whole thing was a nice 4 hour cluster#$@& but it's working.
