Best 780?

#1superstud69xPosted 8/4/2013 2:44:59 PM
In 2 weeks I'll have $725 for a 780. Which one is the best for that price range (assume a ~9% tax, since I live in CA)? It will be paired with-

3770k (currently @stock, will attempt to OC after GPU is installed)
ASUS P8Z77-V LE
16 GB RAM
650 watt Corsair PSU

Personally, I prefer a non overclocked reference card. The reference cooler on this really is quite something...

It's really not.

Let the haters hate. And enjoy their potentially unstable factory overclocked GPU with 10lb heatsink hanging precariously off a 1mm circuit board

The reference cooler is a hunk of heatsink with a solid aluminum shroud. That's ironic.

Unstable factory OCs aren't really a thing with GK110 either btw, the reason being the stock clocks are quite low in the first place.

-sighs- The stock cooler on the 780 isn't much to brag about. it doesn't perform incredibly well and is LOUD. it just looks nice. That's really it. Also, if the factory overclocks your card, they are responsible for paying for it if it fries. If YOU OC it, it might void your warranty. So, I will take my OC on my 500 dollar + graphics card with a warranty to back it up, thanks.

I have to say, I'm really not a fan of the aesthetic direction MSI has gone with for the Lightning line. They're so gaudy now. I really miss that slick metallic design they had for the 500 series.
