well i just started playing nba 2k13. Its pretty good. Feels slower than the nba games i've played in the past but fun especially if you like rap music. Its produced by jayz.

Only bad thing is you can't play your friends online. You only get hooked up with randoms.

I think this was the last NHL game on PC and it's rated 88% on metacritic -

(can also grab it on amazon)

Still looks pretty decent since the latest NHL games are powered from same systems - 360/PS3. Funny how the FIFA games still show up every year, but they stopped with NHL ports.

09 is VERY outdated,

Do you mean graphically? He seems to be playing on low settings or if it doesn't support widescreen at least, then wow. Must be a bad port then.

PepsiWithCoke: You could have shown the 360/PS3 version of 09 and the PC would've looked outdated anyways.

They stopped making NHL on PC because they couldn't bother porting the current gen engine. 09 is based on the PS2 version of the game, which is why its 4:3 only (without hacks).

If 09 has shoddy controller support and no true widescreen. So while it's the "best" hockey game for the PC....yeah. Not really worth playing.

I have no idea why EA Sports doesn't release NHL/Madden/NCAA on PC like once every 3 years. It would easily sell enough to be "worth" their time, while still making giving consoles the primary attention. Modders would take care of roster/uniform/etc updates in between releases.

Once we perfect building Mechs, I expect there to be a factory in Mexico pumping out a brand call Mechsican. I wanna buy me a Mechsican.

I don't think there truly is a best hockey game for PC. I've played what I've found to be the top 2, and they are both quite awful compared to the console versions of NHL '11 to '13.

NHL '09, this was EA's last release on PC for the game series, and it is freaking awful. The control scheme leaves much to be desired, graphically it can't even compare to the consoles and I found numerous annoying bugs that they will definitely never patch.

NHL' 04 (2013 community rebuild), this is probably the better one, a bunch of modders came together to rebuild NHL '04 in to a 2013 update, with new arena's, mostly HD graphics, and up to date rosters. This is the better game in many ways, however, the only thing it really lacks is consistent big hits. The downside to this is you need to find a copy of NHL '04, then all the mod files.

On the next Steam sale, I plan on picking up NBA 2k13 and MLB 2k12, but we seriously need more sports titles on the PC platform. NHL would be a great addition, and though I haven't played a football game since NFL Gameday original on PS1, I think it has potential too.

Dev's need to realize, these days, nerds and half-nerds enjoy virtual sports too. Bring them to PC. >_>
