Planning to upgrade from 660ti to 770 tomorrow. Need advice

Here is a benchmark between the 660ti and 770.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/860?vs=829

For games the 770 has about a 25% FPS increase over the 660ti. If you think it's worth it, then go for it. However an SSD will only boost your boot time and loading times on any games that are installed on the SSD. IMO I would prefer more FPS in games.

Well, by getting an SSD you're gonna have to reinstall Windows. And overclocking isn't dangerous as long as you actually read guides and aren't be an impatient twit who thinks they don't need to follow said guides.

Not worth it at all.

Reinstall windows? I got the disc here given by the shop but I am not sure if it is a one time use only or not. I don't have any personal attachements to any files on my PC other than some save files I guess but its not something I worry much about. Now I am rethinking my whole trip to the shop tomorrow.

So as of the moment, there is no good alternative to upgrade from 660ti to 770 other than SLI but I think my mobo could not do but I am not sure though or just keep the money for the next gen of video cards?

Forgive me for asking a lot of questions. Truth be told I am confused on what to do next.

Well simple way to think of it is this: are disappointed with your computer's performance? If not, then don't bother upgrading. Honestly, since you're going to university I think you should focus on getting a laptop, a nice mouse and mechanical keyboard. Your computer is still great for games. I only had a desktop in college and I regretted not at least having a cheap laptop so I could work at the library or wherever.

Yeah I guess I will stick with the laptop option then. I got no complains. I can't really max as in max AA and Antisopric Filtering or something but could do it with x4 and ultra in games like Borderlands 2 but I have troubles with Deus Ex HR. I don't have any complaints being someone who plays Civ V, Crusader Kings 2 and Europa Universalis 3 and a game of Dominions 3 and Distant worlds from time to time. I guess it would be a waste if I would get some expensive stuff then. I think I would replace my Diablo 3 steelseries mouse on xmas when the sales would come and I am contented with this razer something keyboard but I am curious about those mechanical ones people keep mentioning here.

You have to go from 660ti to 780, like I did.

Site of the shop had this on special so I was thinking if it is a good one since that MSI one for $999 was gone. the other laptop options that I have are either

or

If the first one is alright for the price I am leaning towards that but I could extend my budget to that MSI if its worth it or even that 2nd one.

Too expensive for me. It would cost me $800 and if its really worth it to make that jump then I might be but its really a huge jump, my current setup could handle it and if its really worth my $800. If so then that is the only thing that I would get tomorrow. Now I am really confused.

Well I live in Europe, but I thought the 780 was $650 in united states?

660ti has 1344 shaders and 144GB/s memory bandwidth, 770 has 1536 shaders and 224GB/s mem bandwidth.

780 has 2304 Shaders and 288GB/s bandwidth, it is nearly double power of 660ti really. Though the 660ti is still quite a good card, don't rush upgrade here my friend.
