Graphics don't appear "high def"

Sounds to me that you have the Morphological Filtering setting set to On. When I was playing X3: Terran Conflict, I was bugging out about how the text in that game looked blurry, then after a while, I found that setting and turned it off, and the text looked normal. Try that.

First I would try calibrating your TV for the computer. Then, you can try messing around with the options for your graphics card and then the game. You can use this to calibrate your TV. I used it myself on an HDTV through HDMI and it even makes my PS3 games look better. It is a lot cheaper than paying someone else to calibrate it and to get a good experience. I used the MP4 version at the top of the page:

You probably have MLAA on if even your text is blurry.

Your description is very vague, it would definitely help if you posted some screenshots of your games in action.

Sounds like your HDTV may be the problem, I've had games look washed out and jaggy on my old 1600x900 HP monitor until I upgraded to a 26" 1920x1080 Samsung monitor and everything looks nice and crisp now. It's actually funny how my in-game graphics look much better than the CGI quality for some games like Mass Effect 2 for example.

If tweaking graphic settings doesn't work, do what some posters are suggesting and rollback your graphics drivers. Try a bunch of different older versions to see if that works. I had an issue once that was fixed like this.

My TV doesnt have gaming mode :(. I was wondering, could it be the Catalyst Control Center settings? Also, do i choose quality over performance for some options?

I don't see what's wrong other than that the game doesn't look maxed out on all settings.

Have you tried different HDMI ports? Older samsung TVs only accept pc through hdmi in port 2 for whatever reason.

You should also check to make sure your tv is actually 1080p (or 720, whatever you think it is). I was told my TV was 1080p by the salesman when in actuality it was only capable of accepting 1080p input (It's illegal to do that now though). Its actual resolution was only 1024x768 stretched out to a 16:9 aspect ratio. This made my PC pick it up as a 1024X768 monitor, my choices were use it as a 1024x768 monitor which made everything look nice and sharp but horribly squashed or 1176x668 which made everything proportional but looked like straight ass.
