Looking for new Laptop for girlfriend.

#1HexgamePosted 8/6/2013 1:47:20 PM
Hey guys, recently my girlfriend's laptop was stolen and I'm thinking about getting her a new one for her birthday coming up, I've been out of the tech loop for quite a while, so I'm asking for your help so we don't overpay for junk.

It doesn't have to play a lot of games, she would like to play Guild Wars 2 with me (minimum settings is fine). She also enjoys using Photoshop.

My price range is ~$500. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

PM me her address and I'll take her out and together with my expertise we'll find something that will do her good.

Seems good, but I'd rather have a dual core than a quad core of the same speed. I'm sure GW2 supports a quad-core though.

Graphics card is good enough.

This is just me but I'd pay a 100 or so more just because, as helpful as it doesn't sound.

you want to pay 100 more for a dual core version of a quad core computer?

Quad cores are nice. It's fine.

To clarify my last stupid sentence, a 100 to extend the possibilities of getting one just overall better, not just because of the processor.

But if GW2 is all that's going to be played on it, that's fine.

My father-in-law just bought one of these off of ebay, and it is fantastic. Only gripe is it doesn't have the Nvidia chip but that's a couple hundred bucks more. For your purposes, seem like the HD 4000 is adequate.
