asked for help with my account on steam, been waiting 22 hours for help

The e-mail account for my steam account got hacked and I can't use it. Now I can't enter the password that Steam sends to your e-mail a/c when you re-install Steam. Hopefully my credit card info could prove my case.

But why is the process taking so long?

Steam support is notoriously slow and generally hard to deal with.

Last time I sent in a support ticket, it took them three days to respond.
I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.

I have the same problem. I'm on day three of waiting now.
Just don't constantly check, they'll email you when they've gotten to it.

This. It's pretty bad. I know they probably have a lot of support tickets and not a lot of employees, but come on...

i remember once i got locked out of my account, took 2 days to fix. apparently 48 hours is quick for steam support so prepare for a potentially long wait.

I know this doesn't help (then again, neither does "you'll just have to wait dude") but this is exactly why I do everything possible to keep my account secure. I don't go looking for "Free games if you enter your account name and password", I use steamguard, I use Gmail with 2 step verification there as well (so they'd need access to my physical phone to get the code). I choose passwords that aren't easy to break in the first place, I use different passwords on my email and steam...

Steam will eventually lock the bad guy out and give your account back, but it takes time. If you don't want to have to take time to get your account back, take the steps necessary to prevent it from going out of your control in the first place.

Took my friend almost a week to get his account back after losing both his gmail and his Steam.
