Any quick hard drive recommendations?

Hey all, I'm looking to upgrade the hard drive of an older gaming PC. Space isn't a huge issue, anywhere around 250Gb to 500Gb is fine. Here is the motherboard that it uses:

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-DS3L, LGA 775, Intel P45
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128345

As you can see, it supports SATA 3.0Gb/s.

These are the hard drives I was looking at, they cost $70 and $50 respectably:

Western Digital WD Blue, 1TB, 7200 RPM, 64MB Cache, SATA 6.0Gb/s
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=22-236-339

Seagate Barracuda, 500GB, 7200 RPM, 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148767

Can anyone confirm that SATA 6.0Gb/s hard drives will work with my SATA 3.0 Gb/s motherboard? Quick research shows it does but may require modifying the hard drive pins.

Also, is there a big difference between 64MB cache and 16MB cache?

Finally, if anyone knows of any sales that are going on then I'd appreciate a couple dollars saved.

Please, everyone, I do not want to be stuck with the 80Gb any longer!

Just get the 1TB model of whichever is cheaper currently, a WD Caviar Blue or Seagate Barracuda.
