There is no quality of communities, not everyone in consoles is horrible, not everyone on PC's are horrible. --- Pacman is a deadbeat uncle who embarrasses everyone involved while living off of his one single moment of glory he had back in the 80s -Tirkaro 2013
Depends what games you play communities range from terrible to great (LoL has a terrible community, Payday 2 atm has what could become a great community both my opinion of course.) Also disregard anyone that hates on your choice of Alienware for a laptop a. It's your money b. Alienware are quite good in the laptop market (terrible in desktop from what I've heard) --- i5 3570k @4.6ghz 120gb OCZ ssd, 2TB Barracuda , Corsair h60, GTX770,8gb Corsair ram, Xonar DG, CM690 ii (white) GS800 P8z77 VLX2

This. Also depends on what games you want to play. Multiplatform game communities are usually larger on consoles, but PC gamers mostly respond to that with "I don't wanna play with a bunch o 12 year olds". As a whole though the PC community is much bigger.
you will by far find more children on consules.. since most parents rather drop 300-400 on a xbox then 700 on a decent gameing rig (and yes you can spend less, but thats for more advance ppl that know how to shop for parts)
but i will agree it differs game to game.... so far D3 is a horrible HORRIBLE community... while Marvel Heros is half/half with fanboys....
while i been playing the crap out of Warframe and havent had one person complain or argue in chat... IN game...
