Any good recommendations for a good college laptop that is between $500-700?

Get a Macbook Air, bro. You'll get all the ladies with that.

This is slightly above your price limit:

I have next model in the series, and I've been pretty satisfied. There are some drawbacks though. The battery isn't user replaceable and if you need to upgrade the RAM you'll need a six-point star security bit. The screen is terrific and the backlit keyboard is awesome (but takes some getting used to.)

Once we perfect building Mechs, I expect there to be a factory in Mexico pumping out a brand call Mechsican. I wanna buy me a Mechsican.

For $650 it's not bad and it has that ssd cache drive in it too. This is just for school and maybe YouTube and stuff right? Because that can't play games really.

This is my work laptop. A little on the pricey side, but you get a great mix of power and portability (it's super light). I upgraded mine with an SSD and an extra 4 GB of RAM (buy it from newegg, not Lenovo), and it runs like a charm.
