I'd say 1 and 2 are around a 8 (It's been too long since I played either to remember liking either one more, they both had their ups and down) 3 I would say a 6.5, it's awful as a dead space game, but it's some good dumb co-op fun and I enjoyed playing it even if I couldn't take it seriously for even a moment.
1 = 9/10. I played on PS3 in the dark a lot, and wasn't accustomed to dark scary games at the time.
2 = 7.5/10. The single-player was mostly enjoyable, and expanded the story/lore in a way I thought worked well. For instance, that part during the end where soldiers are trying to kill you felt very tense because you've become accustomed to being a one-man army - but now, you realize your improvised weapons and engineering gear are nothing compared to real weapons and soldiers. Also the Unitology stuff was interesting. However the multiplayer is abysmal and drags the whole game down for me.
3 = 6/10. What can I say that hasn't already been said... Unitologists are now just generic "bad guys", the game encourages rifle-style weapons in general (Rivet chain gun breaks the game), and it feels like you have a ghost following you around with the lack of a solid single-player campaign design. Never tried co-op, but I never wanted to either... so I would've preferred not seeing 2 mechanisms everywhere that just scream "HEY WHERE'S YOUR BUDDY?".
8/10 on pc (nothing wrong with the port but it comes with all the non-story DLC pre-unlocked which is game-breakingly powerful and the story DLC isn't available). Probably my favorite game ever, and I think there's a mod to disable all the DLC suits/weapons but like I said, they just ruin the challenge/pacing.
the origin version has the dlc turned off by default fyi . unless you're just against origin. but for anyone else wondering it's better/simpler to just play the origin version as the steam version does come with the dlc unlocked due to it not being fully updated (i believe that's the reason iirc)
Nice, I really hope it gets added to the bundle, I redeemed 1/3 on Origin because 3 wasn't on steam and not having them all together would just drive me nuts lol.
Every time I try to go where I really wanna be it's already where I am, 'cuz I'm already there XBL, PSN, Steam, Origin, BSN, GFAQs, MC: PhilOnDez
The further into the series you go the worse the games as the series loses it identity the first set so very well. It gets more generic and more action orientated with DS3 just felling like any other shooter.
PLAYING - Xenoblade (Wii), New Super Luigi U (WU), Tales Of Xillia (PS3) MOST WANTED - GTAV, Lightning Returns, FFXV, Watchdogs, X, KHIII, FFX/X-2 Remaster
How do some people think 1 one was better then 2? I haven't played them extensively but part 1 felt like a cheap quick console port with it's fair share of issues. Part 2 really felt right on the PC and then you have things going on like having the main character with a personality which makes a big difference.
