Anyone experienced with FRAPS? I have a question.

I don't know where you people get your information from, but unchecking "lock framerate while recording" results in exactly what the TC asked for.

if there was a way to record at 30 FPS while still playing at 60 FPS

No, I don't believe that is possible. You're better of just recording at 30 FPS.

MSIAfterburner allows you to play at 60 FPS whilst recording at 30 FPS.

I've not used FRAPS in several updates, but I heard they also had this feature somewhere in their settings now.

I can not use MSI Afterburner to record for some reason. I use it for my fan graphs and such, but I can not get it to record or for its OSD to show up. I can't figure out why.

Did you not install the Rivatuner component during the installation? MSI Afterburner relies on the Rivatuner component to display the OSD, monitor framerates/frametimes, and record stuff.

There is no way to play at 60 but record at 30. Your best bet if your PC can't handle recording at 60 is to record at 60, but half the size of the recording, then resize it when you render it. it will kill the quality a bit but there's not really any other choice for you.

This, select 30 FPS, make sure "Lock framerate while recording" is unticked. There, playing at 60fps (if your pc can handle it) and recording at 30.
