HOLY ***T. Take my money. Finally, the return of the FPS. This is what PC gaming is about people.

The classic game is free on steam. There is an enhanced edition that costs money but the full original is free. It's a very 90's FPS with plenty of crude one liners and racially insensitive lines.

Level design could be better from what I saw but it definitely looks awesome, regardless.

the more "linear" level design seems to be his only real complaint. Looks like a really fun old school-ish shooter. looking forward to it. Hard Reset was pretty damn cool too.

The very best kind!!

Shadow Warrior was outstanding for its time because it took the revolutionary Build engine used in Duke Nukem 3D and enhanced it with things like controllable sectors which could be used to build driveable vehicles with weapons, like the tanks and turrets used to mow down enemies and occasionally blow holes in walls. I think Shadow Warrior was in fact the first FPS I ever played with drivable vehicles. That, combined with cool level design and interesting weapons like the Ripper Heart and Grenade Launcher (arced weapons were rare in those days) made it one of the greats back in those days. Also, the extreme ease of use of the Build Engine for creating your own custom maps made it an amazing game to make your own battle arenas in, though the software was really buggy.

But... yeah. In its day I considered Shadow Warrior to be one of my favorite games ever, but now that destructible environments and vehicles are commonplace there's a lot less to be said for it. Still a cool game but I'm not really that sure I need to play a remake.

Has a Serious sam vibe, looks interesting. I'm glad it's back in this genre.
