I've been toying with the idea of building my own PC for gaming and have been looking around at different articles. I was thinking I wanted to be able to play most new games somewhere from medium to high. Would $1000 be enough to accomplish this or should I look at putting out a little more. Does anyone have any builds they recommend?

$1000 will get you high to ultra in most games.

Do you have a MicroCenter near you? They have a deal where you can get a 4670k for 200 and 40 off a compatible motherboard. Also, a Samsung 840 120gb ssd would be 80, and you also get 10 off crucial 2x4gb ram making it around 50.

And now if there is no Microcenter near him he will feel horrible.

Those are some great deals though, if there is one you should jump on that.

Edit: Holy crap, Microcenter has the i7-3820 for $230...

Eh, still not as cheap as they were going ~8 months ago. I got mine for $199.

That was a great deal. Did you go through Microcenter or somewhere else?
