Trying to install Java on a Surface with Windows 8. Help

#1Cosmic_CoyotePosted 8/16/2013 1:04:11 PM
I always get an error when trying to install it from desktop.

Also I just started investigating this issue and I see many people have this incompatibility trouble with Surfaces + Win 8.

Not sure if itīs Win RT or Win 8 yet, but can someone confirm if itīs true that you canīt use Jave on Win RT on Surfaceīs?

thanks in advance

How much did you pay for your Surface, and when did you buy it?

Easy enough way to find out the difference. Open a command prompt and run winver or right click the bottom left screen corner and go to system. As for Windows RT not being able to run Java it's not technically impossible, but no one's written a java vm for it yet.
