Is TressFX in ANYTHING other than tomb raider?

I don't have tomb raider but even if I did, and even if it didn't have a performance hit, I still wouldn't use tressfx. I do have an nvidia card so I do use PhysX, but sometimes I turn it down if it gets obnoxious like borderlands 2 with high pellet count shotguns as my main weapon.

As of now? Nope. And the only effects that it does is drops your FPS like mad crazy and makes the hair look fairly realistic. PhysX is far superior in every other way but hair lol

Being an AMD users I had to go with option 2. I know you can force your CPU to do the PhsX but it's not really worth the performance hit... Then again TressFX wouldn't be worth a performance hit either. With my 7950 though TressFX seems to make very little difference in FPS, so I just keep it on since it does look slightly better.

TressFX looks good in screenshots and in ideal conditions but overall it's more distracting and looks worse than the regular hair. Not to mention the performance hit.

If my GPU can handle it (and I had the option), I'd use both. Otherwise, I'd probably go with TressFX if I had to choose, because I like fairly realistic hair more than silly dust and papers being blown by the wind.

For what it's worth, both my desktop (GTX 670) and laptop (GTX 780M) are nvidia, so no bias here.
