If you are running Windows 7 or older, do you plan on changing to Windows 8 this year? --- Genius has its limitations. Ignorance has none.

Win 7 Ultimate 64. I have no plans to get 8 anytime soon. --- I'm your huckleberry... You spend nine months trying to get out, and the rest of your life trying to get back in.

I admit I have not looked at Windows 8 at all, so I don't know what the benefits are. I've heard negative things, though. I just got Windows 7 a few weeks ago, although I don't notice that it's any better than Vista now that I'm using it. It's got this annoying thing on the taskbar that I can't get rid of, this button to show/hide desktop? What a random, dumb addition to make mandatory. Maybe some people want that thing, but as with everything else, it should be optional. --- My movie and gaming room: http://imgur.com/a/IjWr1 My pets: http://imgur.com/a/P9VGU

I'm on Windows 7. Windows 8 is bad enough on laptops (without a touch screen), so why would I want it on my desktop? Windows 8 is great for tablets, but I don't have one, so Windows 7 works for me. --- Zachnorn Everything is overrated. http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/4503/qrcode857546.th.png

I just watched a couple of videos showing Windows 8, and...it looks like they took an ugly cell phone UI and stretched it onto a monitor. I can't stand the way it looks, but in fairness, I can't stand the way Vista or 7 look either (I run in classic mode.) If I am able to still use classic mode and all the behind-the-scenes stuff performs better, it might be in the cards eventually. --- My movie and gaming room: http://imgur.com/a/IjWr1 My pets: http://imgur.com/a/P9VGU

I'm on Windows 8. It has better DPI scaling and multi-monitor support than Windows 7 and it's a bit faster. --- MacBook Pro with Retina Display | 15.4" 2880x1800 | Core i7-3615QM @ 2.3GHz | 8GB DDR3 1600MHz | GT 650M 1GB GDDR5 | 256GB SSD | OSX 10.8.4 | Windows 8 Pro

I run Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on my laptop and Ultimate 64-bit on my desktop. I probably won't be getting Windows 8. By the time it's needed for anything at all Windows 9 will be out.
