If you are running Windows 7 or older, do you plan on changing to Windows 8 this year?

I admit I have not looked at Windows 8 at all, so I don't know what the benefits are. I've heard negative things, though. I just got Windows 7 a few weeks ago, although I don't notice that it's any better than Vista now that I'm using it. It's got this annoying thing on the taskbar that I can't get rid of, this button to show/hide desktop? What a random, dumb addition to make mandatory. Maybe some people want that thing, but as with everything else, it should be optional.

I'm on Windows 7. Windows 8 is bad enough on laptops (without a touch screen), so why would I want it on my desktop? Windows 8 is great for tablets, but I don't have one, so Windows 7 works for me.

I just watched a couple of videos showing Windows 8, and...it looks like they took an ugly cell phone UI and stretched it onto a monitor. I can't stand the way it looks, but in fairness, I can't stand the way Vista or 7 look either (I run in classic mode.) If I am able to still use classic mode and all the behind-the-scenes stuff performs better, it might be in the cards eventually.

I'm on Windows 8. It has better DPI scaling and multi-monitor support than Windows 7 and it's a bit faster.

I run Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on my laptop and Ultimate 64-bit on my desktop. I probably won't be getting Windows 8. By the time it's needed for anything at all Windows 9 will be out.
