If your IQ is above your cpu idle temps then Win8 is superior to every version before it.

Sure, if by superior you mean "takes more clicks to do the same thing as before because we fixed lots of things that weren't broken."

What takes more clicks, besides shutdown, restart, and sleep (which is fixed in 8.1)???

If 8 is ever really cheap I'll get it, but 7 is fine for now. Will probably skip right to 9 though.

I have no problems with Windows 7, so I have no reason to upgrade.

However, I recently built my dad a new pc with Windows 8. I have no problems with it either. I even kind of like it. But it didn't convince me I needed it. I'll wait for the next one.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

I still use XP on my work computer, our IT department keep trying to upgrade it to 7, but I keep resisting as it quite an old computer and its stable as it is and I don't want them buggering about with it to upset that.

I also tried Windows 8 on my mates laptop for the first time today and it pissed me off so much I felt like putting my fist through the screen. I assume this blue update will solve the cumbersome BS nature of it?

I do have a copy of Windows 8 that I got as part of the upgrade deal MS did, but I'm saving that for my next build, when they have hopefully improved on the travesty that is W8.

W8.

I got it when it first came out for like $20 - $40 (forget the actual price).
It's superior to Windows 7 in every way possible.

He won't reply back because he can't think of a good reason for hopping on the hate Windows 8 bandwagon.
