If all goes well today, I'll be getting an 11" macbook air. I do not want to buy a new copy of Microsoft Office unless I actually have to. I own a Windows version of the 2010 software. Will this product key work for a mac software installation? My gut instinct says no, but I'm really hoping that it will. --- "We often refuse to accept an idea merely because the tone of voice in which it has been expressed is unsympathetic to us." - Friedrich Nietzsche

Unless you also run windows through boot camp, no. In order to run office you'd need to buy the 'Office for Mac' version. But it's not cheap and I hear it runs like crap.
The macbook should come with a version of iWork though, which is essentially the same thing and even if it doesn't it's muchh cheaper software to buy.
