760 vs 7950?

#1temgunPosted 8/18/2013 1:05:18 AM
I'm kinda torn. I don't have a preference between AMD or Nvidia, so which one gives me better value?

Damn near the same value wise (price/performance). But the 760 is more powerful.

Get whatever is cheapest. They are similar. I think the 760 performs better on stock but the 7950 is better for overclocking and has more RAM.

The 7950 is a better value. It overclocks on stock voltage to 680/770 level. What I mean by that is, you turn up 3 sliders in CCC, hit apply, and enjoy your performance. That's all you have to do. If you want to start adjusting your voltages for more overclock, some cards allow you to do that too, but seriously getting a lot of performance without tweaking much is simple.

If you're not bothered about freebie games, maybe a 670 would be a better option than either of those. They seem to be dropping in price a bit recently (UK, anyway).

The 7950 is certainly a better value, and a better performer once you start overclocking. The game bundles are back online too.
