You could try something like JoyToKey or Xpadder. I like the former because the interface is more straightforward. It works well for The Binding of Isaac.

Well that won't work because of the aiming mechanics. The pc version uses position aiming with the mouse. The console version uses a directional aiming mechanic with the stick. Emulating the mouse with a stick is a horrible night to have a curse.

Sad because the game had native controller support and the developer removed it for the pc version.

You wouldn't have to remap everything and just use the controller. You could choose to only remap some things (like character movement or to use items) and still use the mouse in the other hand. It would sort of work like this:

It sounds like this would be better than if they had included native controller support, anyway. Mouse aiming is simply the best.

It works with Xpadder. I actually created a profile that works pretty well. You just need the right settings for mouse to stick.
