People are actually using them with the humble bundle thing.

Probably just a lot of traffic. I noticed no difference in my d/l speeds with steam and origin.

My BF3 download was only about 20GBs. Did I miss some free DLC or something?

You shouldn't have, the game has the DLC files installed regardless of if you bought them or not. :/

I'm pulling down 3MB/sec on Origin right now. So, it's you.

downloaded all the humble bundle games on steam in around 2-3 hours. hell burnout took only 20 minutes. yet origin, holy piss bf3 is taking an age to complete.

I bought it a couple days ago, and I finally finished tonight.

That's because The Sims 3 kept wanting to patch itself. I didn't figure out I was in a patch loop until the fourth download attempt. On the third download, I wrote down the patch number, and I had apparently downloaded the 1.3GB patch 3 times. I had to manually update.

This Origin HB makes you realize how much better Steam is.

I got every Origin game I owned (well, almost) on Steam with the Origin bundle, so I uninstalled Origin. I gotta say, it feels great.

You have 80MBps internet?

I'm skeptical that you have that, and even more skeptical that Origin can handle those speeds.
