The game has problems with AMD's drivers.

And yet AMD cards still get better performance somehow.

Oh, they fixed it? TC, make sure your drivers and game is up-to-date.

It was never a problem with AMD's drivers; the devs patched the game 2 days after release.

In order to create a level playing field, we have also chosen to deactivate the "Advanced PhysX" simulation in our tests which is capable of increasing graphics quality

For normal details and a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, ... It takes a GeForce GT 650M to go beyond 35 fps here. High details and HD or HD+ resolutions (around 1600 x 900) are only possible with fast high-end GPUs such as the GeForce GTX 675MX ... maximum details and a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels are impossible even with the fastest notebook GPUs such as the GeForce GTX 680M and the Radeon HD 7970M.

...to enjoy all eye candy "Metro: Last Light" offers, new generation hardware (which is imminent) is a necessity.

XMG A502 (Core i5-3360M, GeForce GT 650M & HD Graphics 4000)

1920x1080 / Very High / DX11 / 16xAF = 12 FPS
1366x768 / High / DX11 / 16xAF = 22 FPS
1366x768 / Medium / DX10 / 4xAF = 37 FPS
1024x768 / Low / DX10 / 4xAF = 44 FPS

That's not what I would consider smoothly on Very High, even when plugged into a 1080p HDTV.

I never really go by FPS to much, as long as my eyes can't spot the FPS drop, I have no problems. Also, even though it's going through my 1080P HDTV, it runs on the native screen resolution of the laptop which is 1366x768.I am going to be upgrading soon, but for the time being, if I have it on the highest setting's and it's playable, I'm happy....

So you would consider...

1366x768 / High / DX11 / 16xAF = 22 FPS

To be running "on very high smoothly"??? That's not even on Very High and it's already running sub 30 FPS.

and why even add "Even plugged into my 1080P HDTV via HDMI" if you didn't intend for it to mean that it was running at 1080p? It's not all of a sudden harder to run just because it is plugged into a 1080p HDTV if the game is still running at the same 1366x768 resolution.

Feels good, man.

That benchmark seems a little off. I get 60fps average with the very high preset.

Maybe they tested on an old patch.

I actually haven't updated the game yet. I didn't even think about it.
I'll go do that right now and see if it helps.

No games that I've played has every done that before up until now.
I actually have to put it on Medium settings to get a 50+ frame rate.

I have:
- Intel Core i7-2600 Quad Core @ 3.4GHz
- Radeon HD Sapphire 6870 1GB

I guess my GPU is finally starting to show it's age after having it for around 3 years.

How does your rig handle Metro Last Light?

LOL

dude. my carrds has been going to my knees for the past year with games like witcher2 and Tomb raider all, maxed out. I get 40 if that. Same with bf3 all maxed out at 1080. Where the hell have you been? lol
