budget hd capture card?

#1sithgod513Posted 8/18/2013 7:36:37 PM
does anyone know of any capture cards that are around $80 that I could use to record on my ps3? I dont really care all that much about video quality being super hd, but I would love to have one that still allows me to play my game in 1080p through the hdmi cable that I use.

the funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Impossible, since PS3 encrypts its signal with HDCP over HDMI.

Its the cheapest I would go, hilariously Roxio HD puts out better quality than ElGato. The only downside is too keep that high quality you must use its own editing software because you have to convert the file to mp4 to use with Sony Vegas (or any other editing software) and it downgrades the video quality.

Btw for Ps3 you are forced to use Component Cables doesn't matter which capture card you use.

You'll still have nearly the same quality... unless I'm thinking of composite not component. I always get the two confused.

Was curious what does major reviewers like GameSpot, IGN, etc. use in order to capture video screens on their console and even handhled and mobile games?

I was told from one of my buddy who usually assist in doing post-production video editing that they usually utilize extremely costly and high-end visual capture hardware or system that can be directly outputted from the console and even handheld it's self.

Once you upload over youtube, the bitrate is too low that you can't tell between HDMI or Component. Don't force yourself to go around HDCP when you can easily use component.
