Firefox and Flash

#1SlaynPosted 8/19/2013 4:55:58 AM
Does anyone else have problems with Firefox and Flash? I have not been able to use Firefox and Flash in a stable manner for a long time. I use Flash a lot for my work, and I cannot have multiple windows of Flash open without it freezing. Very annoying. Does anyone else experience this? I think I am just going to pop on Chrome from now on, was just curious if anyone else experienced this as well.

So for instance I will have a Flash based tab on one screen doing stuff like recording video, while I have another tab either playing back video or paused, and usually this will completely lock up Firefox. The best thing to do is to task manager close Flash and then reload everything, but it happens multiple times per day. I have reinstalled both Flash and Firefox multiple times, and this has been an ongoing issue.

Try disabling hardware acceleration. That fixed some glitches for me, like a youtube tab freezing a Crysis-maxing PC for 10 seconds... just, whut.

Work computer is i3-2120, intel hd2000 I think, 4gb memory. I used to have to work in firefox and have IE open for flash based content, and recently I switched back to 100% firefox for both and that lasted about a week before I gave up on flash and firefox.

did you try making sure you didnt have two versions of flash running in your plugins? i ran into this problem in my linux PC and that seemed to fix it.

you could also just get chrome which has integrated flash.
