it seems i have somehow contracted this virus. whenever i open a browser it redirects my homepage to www.yahoo.com, and opens a new tab with start.sweetpacks.com

ive ran mallwarebytes, it found 25 infections, and i deleted them, and rebooted, ran Mbytes again and it said iwas clean, i open my browser and i still get the redirected home screen and the second tab.

i read a guide on how to manually remove the virus but non of the files they say to delete are present on my system.

anybody have a clue as to what is going on? or can point me in the direction of a solution?

Look at your browser settings, there must be 2 sites listed as home.

If you're in firefox, you may need to go into about:config and change the homepage(s) from there.

What browser are you using? Firefox or Chrome will have had an addon/extension installed so you'll need to remove that too

You can do that just from the options menu, no need to use about:config
