Taking a break for now. Fantastic game so far, though. Once you get out of the tutorial level, the difficulty is impressively high.

Thats Xcom for you

It's very XCOM so far, in more ways than one.

Very good so far! Some minor, but annoying graphical glitches - in particular, reflections ruin my framerate - but the art design is striking and the animations are good.

The combat starts a little easy because you're given high-level teammates to help you learn the basics, but once you get past that it becomes brutal [playing on Commander] fast. It's EXTREMELY tactical, arguably as much so as the tuen-based games; I found myself using the battle menu constantly, needing it to deal with almost every battle.

As a fun example, the first boss is a muton. In order to trump him, I had to have one of my guys use taunt and then flee around the corner, then throw grenades in his path as he followed to weaken his armor. Once that was done, I had my sniper hit him with a head shot to get his attention when the taunt intended, then my commando and I approached from behind to shoot him in the back. Once he turned back on us, I had my squad flee around the corner, where we found the best cover we could and waited to ambush him and finish the job with triple assault rifle fire.

That actually sounds pretty good

Hm, looks like it should have been a $20 downloadable game.

This. It'll probably be down to 10 dollars by the time of the Steam Winter Sale.

61% average reviews, and a first person shooter on top of that? Nope! Not interested at all!

That's a really weird way to spell third person shooter.
