Any games you've tried and tried and tried to play, but just couldn't get into?

I've tried GTA4 over and over, but never got past the part where just after the garage fight. It's just so repetitive! Go here, kill this guy, escape in car. Or go here, guy escapes in car, chase him and kill him. That right there is 99% of GTA. But there has to be a reason it's rated so high, doesn't there?

I've also tried Oblivion like a million times, with and without mods. I always get to the part when you escort Martin to that snowy place in the mountains. Then I get bored and sick of all the clone faces, voices, and horrible barbie doll animations. But there has to be a reason it's rated so high, doesn't there?

Fallout New Vegas is another. I always get to Novak and then just get bored. Without any important NPCs that are with you and the story throughout the whole experience, what is there to care about? But there has to be a reason it's rated fairly high, doesn't there?

What games have you tried and tried to get into but just never could get through?

Your post leads me to ask if you even play video games.

Mario sunshine, kept falling an missing jumps raged quit never went back.

Uncharted 2, just couldn't finish it......

Gears, oddly enough found it boring

Disgaea games, I get so sidetracked I only ever finish them when I'm so overpowered but I do enjoy the games

Oddly enough I do believe this is the general GameFAQS consensus. You're not allowed to enjoy any game released post 2000 otherwise you aren't a real gamer.

TC, pretty much all your complaints about those games would be void if you'd just play further, you've barely scratched those games. Except Oblivion, I guess. But I can't really say much, I've tried Deus Ex: HR 4 times and never got past the first real mission.

The main storylines of F:NV and Oblivion are widely regarded as terrible. I've never completed either of the main stories, but play them mostly to explore.

I never understood GTA either. Dragon Age 1 is a game I really wanted to like but never could. I enjoyed Dragon Age 2 though.
