So, some of you older gamers might remember this game. Dungeon Keeper, by Bullfrog Studios. A top down, god simulator game where you controlled you creatures, killed heroes and built dungeons. A very fun game, with a sequel no less.
Well, as it turns out, the license was sold to EA after Bullfrog made the second game, and after over 10 years, they are finally making a new dungeon keeper game. But guess what... It's a MOBILE game. Talk about a slap in the face to any fan of the game.
I was so disappointed when I saw that, because for years, I have thought about the possibilities of a next gen high def Dungeon Keeper game. You would think that with all of the games that have come out, or are coming out, that have used Dungeon Keeper as an inspiration, EA would see the market for making a new installment for the PC. I mean, you have games such as War For the Overworld, Impire, and even The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot, that are all clearly inspired by Dungeon Keeper, and are trying to make it big off of it's popularity.
What do all of you think of this?
Oh, and here's the link to the story. http://kotaku.com/dungeon-keeper-returns-as-a-mobile-game-1176201020 --- http://www.youtube.com/user/Xenoriddley?feature=mhee
If you really want a true spiritual successor to dungeon keeper, I would keep my eye on War of the Overworld. It is currently in beta on steam and you can buy into it for early access. I think it will turn out to be a pretty good game. I believe, although can't remember 100% if this is true (it may be another game that I was thinking of), that some of the people working on it worked on dungeon keeper. Total Biscuit did a video of his impressions on it if you want to check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5CRtNAQ6Sc
But to your point of the actual dungeon keeper going on mobile. Overall I wish it wasn't, but if it turns out to be any good I'm always on a lookout for decent mobile games for my tablet. --- I7 2600K 3.4GHz | GTX 470 1280MB SC | Asus Sabertooth P67 | Corsair 2x 4 GB | 120GB Intel 5140 SSD | CM Silent Pro 850W | 120MM Liquid Cooler | CM HAF 922
