WoW-like free MMO?

#1R_JackalPosted 8/21/2013 10:14:48 AM
I'd say good, but most really are a bit meh. Been trying my hand at finding one. Mainly, I'm just trying to get my mom a game she can play--a simple free-to-play MMO. As you could guess, she used to play WoW but no longer wishes to pay for it. She's been a gamer for longer than I've been alive, but...wanna keep it simple so she doesn't get ticked off at it. Any recommendations?

I've tried Rift and EQ2 which she wasn't too fond of.

I was going to say Rift-- it's the most WoW-like that I know of. What didn't she like about them?

I've heard good things about Tera, but it's more action-based.

Well, as a previous poster said, Rift is the most WoW-like free-to-play game available, if she didn't like that, I might suggest she go back to WoW.

SWTOR is WoW with lightsabers. No meaningful difference beyond the great storytelling component.
