Splinter Cell Conviction - 40 frames per second.

This is the first time I have downloaded the game since I upgraded my PC. I loaded a level from continue story, it's right outside the memorial, if I remember correctly?

I'm getting 40 FPS. Now, I'll admit I did max out the settings, including AA. However, when I turned AA off, there was no improvement. So I went upward and turned off the extras like HDR is it? But once again, it didn't help. Reflections off, a slight increase, but still in the upper 40s, lower 50s.

At this point I turn shadows down to low, and I'm still at 50.

I am concerned. Because I'm playing this game with two GTX 680 Classifieds. Is this normal performance?

My other specs are Asus Rampage IV Extreme, Corsair Vengeance or Dominator RAM 32GB, i7 3930k which has not been overclocked and a Corsair 1200W PSU.

I think that's it, anyway. This is just another game in a long list of games that is giving me what seems like odd performance. With Blacklist out in a couple of days, it's giving me the impression I'm not going to run that well either. I'm going to do more tests, and see how low I need to turn settings to play the game. But I would have thought, with this machine, performance should have been higher?

I was going to post this on the forum for the game, but I get the feeling I might not see a response for a while. I'm also sure some people might remember some of my old threads complaining about odd performance in games. This follows up Saint's Row III which, again, only gives me 40 FPS when I'm out in the world. I could have sworn my two 580s ran these games just fine. I never had a complaint about them.

Edit: The game will only run at 60 on Low settings.

I just had a look at the beta drivers, and whilst I do not have those drivers, that looks like it is for Blacklist, not Conviction. Other than that, everything is up to date driver wise.

Nahh blacklist is supposedly HIGHLY optermised for pc. Apparantly (this is from some Murica friends of mine.). Have faith TC. I take it (like me) you are from the UK ? If so it will be worth the wait.

Pm if you need a co-op partner.

You sure sli is enabled?
When I had a 670 it ran conviction better than that.

I don't have time to read your post (yet) as I'm getting ready for work but let me just say that Conviction runs pretty bad on my PC too. Can't even get 60fps at 1080p without stuttering.

Well I hope you get it fixed. Blacklist is a lot better though. My friend runs it at 60 fps with sli 670. On 1440

Damn, maybe it's an AMD thing then.

Although I monitor my framerate on a graph so if it ain't a straight line I get UPSET BRUH
