Does it come with any good exclusives? Oh wait, that's right. PC doesn't have any great exclusives. Just WoW and Strategy games.

Is this topic about trying to recreate PS4/XboxOne with a homemade PC?

Kinda curious how close one can get to it with the price limitation of $400 for PS4.

Well without OS that is a mere $500

There is no question the FX6300 is faster in a lot cases than the console APU, it might be missing 2 threads but it's twice the clock speed

The 7850 is pretty damn close to the PS4 GPU in shaders but is clocked higher and still ends up better spec'd

IDK for $500 you could get some good Linux gaming going, but the OS is pretty much a boon, you'll need it to game

Lose the SSD for a 500GB HDD and use the extra cash to get a 7950

$657

Only 27 dollars more and the GPU is over twice as stronger. And if overclocked it blows the consoles out the water

I had a Biostar budget board in 2011

what.

It's got 4x SATA 3

It's got one PCI-e

It supports 16GB RAM to 1866

It might not be an overclocker but whatever, I could overclock back then 25%! On a flippin stock cooler. Granted that was only 3.7Ghz but whatever man, it was quad core.

I think the only way to Test all these hypothetical builds is to run the Multi plat games against a PC of similar price range wilth all Ideal parts.

1080p @ 60FPS is all there is to beat right?

So Watch Dogs, Assassins Creed, Call Of Duty... All ran on this PC should be able to get 60FPS @ 1080p no problem? Without all that crazy overclocking.

Oh, you thought they made this game for you? You clearly bought the wrong game.

mostly, yeah, sure

but 1080p? consoles won't be doing 60Hz 1080p in ultra detail

No doubt devs will use scaling and res like 720p and 900p or other custom res to get 60Hz

Call of Duty is still more popular with folks because of the speedy frame rates, others prefer Battlefield with its hi res and larger maps

But for example, my single Radeon 6850 maxed out Crysis 2 on day of release, 30+ FPS, in smooth fashion

Metro 2033 would run fine too in DX11 with DoF off, but some areas 20+ FPS

Skyrim would be a bit of a pandit because it doesn't like FPS drops from 60, but some settings lowered and you would get 1080p@60

So yeah, generally 1080p with 30+ FPS should be OK and a lot of games will run at 60

I really like silky frames and SFX so now I crossfire...

Actually did some research. Sony wants to push devs to do 60FPS but a lot will be capping at 30.

Guess it makes sense. The jump they're trying to make is in resolution. I don't think Microsoft has any plans to push for 60fps.

I can do 1080p 30fps on a few games with Intel HD 4600.
