Should I bother with 1440/1600p display with only 1 gtx670?

Topic...

And I hate to admit it but I only have 1600x900 atm. So either way, 1080p or the big upgrade to higher is an upgrade period. It's not should I switch from 1080p, it's, I need to switch, and when I do, should I go for better than 1080?

Eagerly awaiting FFXIV's inevitable failure. Even a fantastic game cannot withstand initial bad press & the long-dead MMO format. Sad but true.

I'd just stick with 1080 tbh.
Unless you sli, then you'll be fine.

I'd stick with 1600x900 for now. I doubt going to 1080p will be that big a difference. I know going from 1680x1050 wasn't a big jump for me.

900p is fine. Stick with 900p if you want your GPU to last much longer.

ADD, no. Where is the thread for Fallout OCD players?
"We have to keep it on page 3 or it freaks out."

I have a 1440p display with one 2gb 670 and it's holding up remarkably well. You'll definitely have to tweak games like Crysis 3 but the large majority of games it plays no problem.

The increase in resolution and image quality is totally worth turning down some settings IMO, and the extra desktop space is glorious.

Still has a glimmer of hope for Shenmue III

Your card can handle 1440p. If the monitor is in your budget I would probably get it if you're really interested in 1440. Don't let your card hold you back, because it probably won't. Monitors last a long time if you get a good one.
