pci express 3.0 not on?

So this'll sound weird, but here we go.

I just recently got a Sapphire 7950 off of Newegg's sale a few days ago. Prior to that, I was running a Diamond 6870, now, when I go into CCC after updating the drivers, it tells me that the Maximum Bus Setting and Graphics Bus Capability are all at PCI 2.0

For the record, I have an ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 Mobo, so I know it has PCI 3.0

So what gives? Do I have to do something to turn it on? Heck, is the 3.0 gonna make that much of a difference in how well the card operates?

Are you actually using an Ivy Bridge processor? Because I'm pretty sure you need one for them to read at PCI 3.0.

And also, no, it makes virtually no difference. It's possible you might get 1 more FPS in games. Maybe.

I'm guessing that you're using a Sandy Bridge CPU with that Z68 chipset, which means that PCI-E 3.0 is not supported.

It really doesn't. You aren't missing anything.

Great set of pages that compares benchmarks on games running on 2.0 and 3.0.

Spoilers: the difference in fps is minimal, heck rare instances where 2.0 achieves higher fps than 3.0
