Rate my first PC build

This is my first build of a computer. I already ordered the parts and everything came to about $527.69 and that's not counting the rebate card I'm getting with it, so it would be $507.69 counting that. I just had about $500 to spend on a computer that I'm going to be using for my LP's on YouTube and this should suffice until I can afford to upgrade it.

Also, I did not get the Black/Red case, I got the Black/Blue one and that one looks much nicer.

I would get another stick of RAM soon

I guess if the mobo has only two slots that's a good way to get it now and later, because 8GB is actually less and less these days

but dual memory channel is a "part" of bulldozers which have a greatly improved controller compared to phenom

Say Skyrim with official hi res textures... my RAM useage has approached 90% in 1080p with 8xMSAA

That is with 8GB of RAM

Anyway, that is a good build and you can get a dedicated gpu later too

ADD, no. Where is the thread for Fallout OCD players?

the 8660D is a decent IGP still

you could play source titles on high and new games on low settings

Yeah, I need more ram, because the RAM I'm getting is only one stick. But, I dont have the spare money right now, so I will have to stick to it for a little while. Also, I thought about getting a dedicated GPU, but I didn't have the extra money to spare. Plus, the AMD A10 Quad Core is a CPU and GPU, so it should be fine for now. I honestly can't wait, I want it right now, it should be coming in on Monday.

The upgrades I wanna do later on,

Get a Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Burner
Get a memory card reader
EVENTUALLY replace the Motherboard and the processor and get an i7 and a good graphics card so I can play some higher resolution games.

Eh, I wouldn't worry about it

Honestly I'd just keep the 5800k, and get an FM2+ motherboard after they come out later this year

That will get you a steamroller in 2014, and it comes with PCI-e 3.0

I'm not sure if 3.0 would work with the 5800k but the socket will

Cool, I'll look into it.

You may want to invest in some faster RAM. It's not that much more and will give you increased performance. This video is using Richland but it also applies to yours:

The gains are significant because the APU uses the system RAM.

I am going to get some more ram, I might get three more 8GB sticks and bump everything up to 32GB.

Here's some more info on using fast RAM for an APU from Linus:

And for the love of all that is holy don't blow half your budget on getting 32GB of RAM. It's a total waste of money. There's no way you're going to get even close to using it all. Get two 4GB sticks of fast RAM and call it a day. Remember it's the speed of the RAM that's going to help you the most and not a higher amount.
