Best quality low priced Headphones?

#1Tony_Biggie_PunPosted 8/23/2013 8:37:33 AM
I'm looking for some earmuff type headphones that are durable enough to last for 2 years without the sound quality degrading, wires getting frayed etc.

Preferably under $30-$50. It would also be cool if it had a mic but thats not a high priority for me.

I bought this for $55 about 6 months ago and I'm loving it.

I don't see a place to buy them. Are they available in the USA?

How good are they for music? I mainly listen to electronic music(house, trance, a little dubstep) and rap.

I did some searching, and it seems like Armageddon is a Singapore-based brand that launched less than 2 years ago, so yeah, their stuff might not be available in the US. Didn't expect that.

At that price try the Koss UR55. It's good enough.

You can find it for quite a bit cheaper at retail, however.

There's also the JVC HARX700 and HA-S500.

I'm thinking about buying those. How do the Monoprice headphones compare to it though http://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-108323-Premium-Hi-Fi-Headphone/dp/B007SP2CO2

Those look good because of the noise cancellation, the detachable cord and the way it folds up

There's not actual noise cancellation, they just isolate better than normal. I'd opt for some different cans. The monoprice ones are fairly uncomfortable. The headband is uncomfortable and the earpads get sweaty easily. They do sound decent for the price though.

I've owned these for about two years and they work incredibly well for both sound and chat.

Very durable and have had zero issues. I keep considering buying another set but then I remember how good these ones work and can't justify buying another set because of how good they work.

I'm typically the type who always buys the next greatest and top of the line gadget too. In the last few years I've had several keyboards and mice.

So that means I really love this thing.
